Posted - 11/11/2009 : 3:37:46 PM I would have liked to take the electrical test and went to work Fagens attitude against the electricians that failed is much different now they are just going to work with the people they have , who knows they are probably full of sh*t themselves .

Posted - 11/11/2009 : 09:50:32 AM I hear ya!! Not a problem!! Use a HI-LO on any fit I make!! May not make Nuc standards but nothing to bich about!! Don't know there specs! but no complaints. And the field welds are where they need to be!! You have to take care of your tools or they have a tendency to let you down!!!! It's a team thing...take care of the welders and if the time comes MAYBE they'll take care of that occasional OOPS!! Ya gotta know what kinda welder ya got before you can even ask for that extra 1/8"

Posted - 11/11/2009 : 09:16:34 AM It shouldn't have 1" gap on one side and butted up on the other either. Also when you work and weld on a 100' of 30" and then when they fly it up and have to fly it right back down because the fitter can't read his rule then ya got to cut 5 welds back out and fix it, OH yeah.

Posted - 11/11/2009 : 09:05:18 AM I Like that MERLIN!! W. A. S. P. No pi**ing matches wanted but I'm sure you know that we 'fitters' do occasionally have our share of S. W.'s (not socket welds). What do they call us "one trick ponies"... A little disappointed that the merit shops I came up in wouldn't let fitters use the time in between fits to further skills in the craft. It was usually there are three welders leaning on the pipe, put something together!! Welders are a dime a dozen!! Just another tool in your box!! Usually they were O.T.P's as well.. To this day you run into golden arms that don't know a gate from a globe!! I spent a couple of weeks with Fagen a few yrs back and that test was better suited for a top hand.... Glad they upped it a bit!! Not a super fitter but it is a two way street.. it should still be plumb! level! square! and not burnt up when they stencil. F.A.S.W.
