| what type of questions are on this test that is stumping so many people, give an example please. I test Friday after my results of an inconclusive drug test come back. I know there is only 15 questions and since NCCER fitters are failing I would like to study up on the areas that are in the test. I turned down a job in Virgina Beach with Titan to come to Fagen and I have to feed my family and cant afford to fail this test. Talked to Gaylan the safety guy in Clearfield and he said that people who he knows have been in the craft for many years and are Jam up fitters cant pass this thing. So any help would be greatly appricated. I have been working for nine years as a pipefitter and have never failed a test, I know my craft and I am confidant in my ablilites but this test worries me because they are failing people who are NCCER certified and in the craft for many years. Most likely worring for nothing but since jobs are very scarce at the moment wanna take every precation. Thanks agian guys. |

As far as the fitters test, im not sure, i just know the electrical test was kinda hard. i barely passed. Its 20 question open codebook (no uglys). A few questions are easy, but most i had to look for in the code book. If your gonna take it, Make sure your familiar with navigating the nec. The old fagen test was really easy, i finished it in about 10 mins. I used the whole hour for this one, and ive got over 10 years experience, and NCCER. But if you can navigate the code book quickly you will probably be alright.

well, 4 electricians came in mon and failed the test, so i would think there are still some openings. they wouldnt tell me how many, but re-hires are favored. so if youve worked for fagen before, there is a chance u could get on.

I dont know how the pipe welders test is now but I tested for them about 4yrs ago in garnett ks and it was easy I took a tig all the way out 2" carbon cupon with 309L wire and a 6" carbon stick out (p5 root, 7018 out) about as easy as it gets. a test is nothing more than just another weld.
F...K off im bipolar, there for I have a reason for being a cranky A..hole |

My god, their test isn't that hard and most of the answers are in the blue book the rest are in your head if you can fit pipe.
The reason we fit pipe is to give the boss's something to think about while we get their money!! |
