Is it about pipe hehehe I have taken LOTS of them never came close to failing one yet. Nydecker said it is the same test.
The reason we fit pipe is to give the boss's something to think about while we get their money!! |

Yeah neither have I, nor any of the other 20 that have failed it over the last week....we are all nccer pipefitters ranging from 16 years to 30 years exp. former gf's for fagen and what not....
they just revised the test and started using it last monday...
and the answers aren't in the bluebook.... |

Oh they were cryin two weeks ago about it so I called Steve and asked, didn't talk to him last week. Did you take it? What could they ask that a good fitter couldn't answer?

i do electrical and i know the new electrical test is only 20 questions, but ive took the nccer, florida state journeymans, and numerous companies journeymans test, and this is the hardest one so far. basically its hard because the questions they ask you have to look for in the codebook and you only have an hour. you have 3 mins per question and the answer arent easily found. only 2 or 3 easy questions for me. Dont assume that these pipefitters that have failed their test dont know their trade, even the ones that passed say its hard. its a brand new test and unless youve hired on with fagen in the past week and a half, you havent took it.

Did they make them take a blood oath of silence? How come no one says what these hard pipe questions are? Pipe don't have the code's and **** electric does unless your into the steamfitter end of it and I passed the Omaha Steamfitters with an 86%.

not sayin you couldnt pass it, hog. im not a pipefitter, and i havent seen the pipefitter test. i just know alot of electricians failed the new test or had trouble with it. and the pipefitters who passed the new test said it was hard. but not many have been passing it,regardless of how many years experience they had, or how many tests theyve passed. so based on all that, at the very least, i would say the pipefitter test is harder than the old one.

its 20 question, based on 2008 codebook. you can only use the 2008 nec,no uglys. you get 1 hour. you need to be able to navigate the codebook fast. you can miss 4 and still pass. if you fail u go home. are you gonna be hiring in this week?

oh yeah, they will let you use a codebook if you dont have one. also, you have to write in an answer for the questions, no multiple choice. i think theres 2 true or false questions.
