well hell to my surprise I got a call from fagen wanting me there monday to process. I was told that I would have to take another electrical test sence it was 1999 when I took my last one. I will be needing a ride to the jobsite if anyone can help me out with that. not sure on hotel just yet but will see who has what and for how much.
well after many calls to hotels its down to either days inn or motel 6. motel 6 has no micro/fridge at the momment for me and days inn have a king rm with micro/fridge for 300 a week after tax. The wife is bringing me up then going back home so If I could catch a ride to and from work along with a trip to walmart once a week from someone I will pay them for there trouble.thanks
I dont know what all the fuss is about? I took the new pipe test last week and its a piece of cake. It was as easy as the old pipe test. After reading how many people were failing I was stressing out over it until I saw the test. Still cant believe the fail rate on this thing. If you have your book and can navigate the info in the book shouldn't be a problem.
it sounded *****ed to me too, I haven't gone out there cause I'm kinda comfortable 1000 miles away but I never took a pipe test that was very hard and all I keep seeing is what a b1thch it was but no one would say what the content was. I was about to drive out just see WTF all the cryin was.
Ok heres the deal with this job. I processed in today with 3 others and of the three. 1 busuted the drug test and the other 2 failed the electrical test. Is the test tough well yeah but it is open code book ( no uglys) and you have 2 hours to get 14 right out of 20 and I missed 4 so all is good for me. Sorry for my bros that failed. no travel pay and no pay while testing in but for 47.39 an hour its worth while. rumor has it that theres only work till first of december but from what I see its more like mid jan/early feb. so make the call its worth it.
2 hours for 20 question? Man that is sweet. Come to Omaha NE and take the Steamfitters test, 2 hours for 100 question and no calculator, no book, better know your formulas. Fagen's old test was 20 questions that took about 10 minutes.
Anyone know if they changed the time on the Pipe Fitters test from 1 hour to 2 hours? If I would have had another 15 minutes I would have passed. Plus in the middle of the test they stopped us and moved us to another building. So we lost a few minutes for that.
Raf there making all that failed to wait 60 days before testing again and from what I see theres maybe only 2 months of work here before we are done if that long.
