SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidate acts as the Production Supervision/ Team Leader for fit and welding operations, managing all aspects of the welding shop operations, requires the ability to any welding operation, applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other weldable materials for production to close tolerance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Acts as weld shop supervisor coordinating production requirements and resources.
· Welds various items to support on-site installations, fits and assembles parts into complete assembly, and verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
· Participates as a team member on assignments for segments of a major project. May assist in scheduling, reporting, briefing customers, and developing technical documents.
· Studies sketches and drawings to develop specifications for product to be fabricated.
· Pursues professional development opportunities to increase job skills and capabilities.
· Contributes to continuous process improvement efforts as they relate to current job assignment and other improvements throughout the company when identified.
Job Requirements : Mandatory: · Must possess knowledge and experience in the setup and operation of manual and computer numerically controlled machines and tools to cut and weld parts to specifications. · Basic knowledge of technical publication S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248, requirements for welding and brazing procedure and performance qualifications, weld theory, and ferrous/non- ferrous metals. · Ability to read blue prints and utilize measuring equipment. · High school diploma or equivalent, or Military/Shipyard Apprentice School Training. · At least 10 years experience with 3 years work experience on board US Navy Submarines. · Certification for material being welded or brazed. · Must be able to handle complex tasks and provide solutions that are innovative and timely. · Ability to juggle numerous projects and assignments and continuously reassess priorities to achieve goals and objectives. · Ability to travel on short notice (CONUS & OCONUS), and work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
