[br]Hi John32822,
I have been dreaming of working in Australia, how about the company that you work for?? are they doing any hiring?? I'am a combination pipe welder, combination pipe rig welder, CWI, API570 (AI570), and also asnt level 2. I'am also studying for api510 and I should take that test in Dec., "BUT" I'am a woman, are the Australians small minded to women on the job?? Because I sure get a whole bunch of s**t here in the good ole USA.
Thank You for you time.

Code Doctor, for your information I have seen more construction women on the current job I am on than I have seen in the US in the last 20 years!!

About 2 years ago when I was working in Nome, Alaska they had a 3 Electricians on the job from Australia. They specialized in something to do with the unit being installed. They had never seen snow before. We showed them the fun of snowball fights and snowmen. And could those guys drink!

Currently the exchange rate is about $0.84 which is average, not .58 cents. A year ago it was $0.98. The exchange rate is certainly something to consider if working in Australia and sending $$ back to the US.
